Abstract

Aim. To study the influence of different culture media on the efficiency of obtaining and developing pig embryos in vitro. Methods. Biotechnological, embryological and morphological methods, as well as methods of statistical data processing were applied. Results. Stable indicators of crushing of pig embryos in the media «CDM» and «Sage 1-Step» were established without a significant difference between them at the early stages of development. Further cultivation to the stage of early morula indicates a slight advantage of the medium «CDM» (16.4 ± 3.5% and 12.9 ± 3.0%, respectively). The coefficient and index of crushing in vitro embryos were analysed when using different culture media for in vitro development of pig embryos. It was shown that the initial development of embryos in vitro in both media is stable. Conclusion. It was found that the use of «CDM» medium for in vitro cultivation of pig embryos contributes to an increase in the number of 9-16-cell embryos obtained by 3.5%, compared to «Sage 1-Step» medium.
