Abstract

Aims. The aim of current work was to assess the cytotoxicity and antiviral activity of culture broth from higher basidiomycetes Trametes versicolor 353 in culture cell HEP-2 and to investigate the effect of biomass T. versicolor 353 on the immunoreactivity indicators on experimental model in vivo. Methods. The cytotoxicity and antiviral properties of culture broth of T. versicolor 353 studied using standard methods in cell culture. Functional activity of peritoneal exudate macrophages was determined spectrophotometric method. Тhe content of TNF-α in serum was determined by standard procedure for cytotoxic effects on cell culture L-929. Results. It was established that the cytotoxic effect of all the samples of the culture broth depends on the composition medium and the duration of their effects on cell monolayer. It was shown that that samples no possess direct antiviral activity against investigated the viruses. Introduction mice the suspension of biomass T. versicolor 353 led to activation of endogenous interferon and not affected the production of proinflammatory cytokines. Conclusions. The biomass of T. versicolor 353 may be a promising material for the creation products with immunomodulating activities.
